Laroz is arguably one of the most established and skilled producers in the music world today. The works of Laroz are numerous and show diversity with unmatched production skills, from the chilled out jazzy vibes of "Laroz is a rose", to the dub and reggae masterpiece "Allstars". Laroz has also co-operated with Israel's top artists, co-writing and co-producing some of the most significant Israeli albums of the 90's.
Laroz, who returned from N.Y. in 1983, then influenced by hip hop grooves, was one of the first musicians to create electronic music in Israel. At that same he was also playing bass guitar in Israeli pop-rock productions and preforming with top bands.
In the early 90’s Laroz ventured into goa-trance music which became extremely popular in the mid 90’s, although back then he was virtually unknown. During that time he started the act named “bikini” which was the first to use electronic sounds and vocals in the pop-rock market.
Following the release of this album, Laroz moved away from pop rock and focused entirely on electronic sounds, abandoning guitars and vocals altogether. In ’94 he established the “eq’s” with his associate, Tal Ekheizer, from his previous goa-trance period.
They were experimenting with the idea of doing Israeli trip hop, drum & bass and chill-out. One of the tracks from this album was licensed to the compilation, Feed your Head 4, released by Planet Dog Records.
The drum & bass scene began in Israel in 1996 and by that time Laroz was already onto his next phase. In his next album, The Rose, Laroz was in command of everything: writing, producing, mixing & mastering. In this album Laroz expressed his fascination with dub, jazz and trip-hop through sounds in a down tempo and a chilled groove. Avex released The Rose in Japan in 2004.
Following the well received debut of the solo album, Laroz decided to turn more towards "his roots" with the album All Stars, an outstanding production of reggae/dub. It embraces the one form of reggae that has managed to withstand the tide of change and keep its audience following with the dub sound systems. Laroz’s inspiration came from different Jamaican/hip hop and dub artists that performed in Israel’s premiere underground electronic music club, Dinamo Dvash. This naturally directed him away from the down-tempo chilled groove productions and into to the world of Reggae/Dub.. into the genre that has created itself from tiny pieces of Reggae that has exploded and comprised modern day ska, dancehall and dub poetry all coming together to create sweet music.
Laroz recorded these artists in his studio, producing a wide range of different productions alongside some of the biggest names in this unique music genre. He worked with Jamaican Dub poets, percussion artists, Hip hop MC’s and various dub artists, such as Ras Malakot, TY, Dayjah, The Saxson’s and many others.
Because Laroz is a reputable producer, composer and bassist, he has collaborated with a number of Israel's leading artists. In 2005 Laroz finished an exceptional concept album for the Mediterranean Diva, Zehava Ben, and in 2006 he did a remix for The Petshopeboy’s.
